Send an Enlisted Serviceman's Wife to Camp -- 2009!

See these happy campers? They are married to American servicemen. They live on the Camp Pendleton base. They feed, clothe and keep their families running on a military salary (if you think teachers are underpaid, hooo boy, you cannot imagine). In 2008, we hosted close to two dozen wives of servicemen for free, and it made all of US feel WONDERFUL. Such incredible women, we wish everyone had a chance to meet and play with them. October Camp, we want to send more for FREE again. But our own budget is tight as usual (OK, whose isn't??), so we are asking our readers if they would like to pitch in just a tad. $15. is our request. That's it. More is obviously great. Less is fine, too. For every 10 campers that respond, we will make up the rest so another military wife can attend. We are sorry to report that Camp GetAway is not a "charitable organization," so there is no tax writeoff for your gift, but we hope you will gain the benefit of just knowing how much your contribution means to the Enlisted Wives Club.

Contribute via this link and or use this printer-friendly form. You will feel like an angel when you push that button. Here is one April camper's testimonial about what her weekend meant to her:
I know Donine and I have been placed at the absolute bottom of the list because of our participation in April, but I know that there will be women that need that time more than us…I met women on that weekend that I would have never met living on the same base in the same housing because of my crazy work/school schedule….and I just wanted to once again say “thank you”…I have never made female friends that easily…and for once I was able to come out of my shell and have fun and just kick back and relax…if it weren’t for you and your volunteers…I would not know what it was like to have adult female, just plain ole fun J thank you again…

Until we meet again….

2008 Camp Dates... Mark Your Calendar

April 11-13 is the Spring camp, typically attended by overstressed, hard working women who can flee their homes for a long weekend and the family can get along without her.

May 16-18 Scrapbooking GetAway gives our campers a special weekend of 48 full hours to clip, crop, glue and RELAX. Who has enough time to scrapbook at home? This one is limited to 16 campers total.
September 19-21 is the Autumn camp, women who are grateful the summer is over, the kids are back in school, the household has its own routine and MOM IS OUTTA HERE.

Not a mom?? (Patti isn't, either). Pick a Camp that fits your calendar. They are always a little different, so there's no anticipation that your next Camp will be like your last one. However, EXTREME FUN is always our objective.

Yes, It's True... our Scrapbooking GetAway is May 16-18, 2008! Registration: $285.

THANKS for your interest, we'll email you directly with updates on this special weekend. Imagine a full 48 hours of uninterrupted "me time" with personal scrapping space just paces from your zzzzzz quarters. Each bunkroom houses two; it's one big slumber party, so don't fear if you're a party of three or five (but HURRY to register, there's only room for 16 scrappers total).

Accommodations are all in one modern, comfortable and cozy lodge where you'll enjoy delicious homemade meals. Leave your stuff out all weekend, this is YOUR camp! Our professional scrapbooking consultant will be on hand with a big ol' pile of great supplies available for purchase. And our expert massage therapist will have her hands READY to provide chair massages. Let's take a hike in the forest to clear your head, too. Quiet outdoor deck for reading and maybe some sunning.
